    Once your application is approved you’ll get instant access to the DMU Slack to meet the other solo marketers that make up our community. Alongside this are our Friday talks. These are small, confidential sessions to learn and share. A different topic is planned every week. You’ll also get access to the DMU Hub – our advice centre which combines talks, recordings and resources to advance your freelance career. You’ll also have a page about you on the DMU website and a DMU badge to show you’re part of the community.
  • What's the typical profile of a DMU member?
    Last year we ran a survey to give us an insight into who the makeup of the DMU... Typically our members... Have 7-8 years experience in marketing That's 3-4 years gained either in-house or agency side And another 3-4 years gained in a freelance/solo role Most members have found their feet - their services are defined and things are going well. Average turnover is £77k/year. However, there's a sense of isolation and desire to work alongside similar folks to to refine their ideas and grow a business
  • How much is a membership to the DMU?
    Access to the DMU is £75 or 88€ / month. Folks that sign up for an annual membership receive a 10% discount.
  • What areas of marketing do members specialise in?
    We deliberately work to include a wide range of marketers from across the industry offering different perspectives and ideas. We have people who specialise in Analytics, Content, Design, Email, PPC, Paid Social, PR, SEO, Social, UX, Strategy and Web Development.
  • What happens if I stop running my own business?
    From time to time, folks move into full time marketing roles or change careers entirely. If you would still like to be involved even though you're no longer solo then it is absolutely fine to remain a member. It's inspiring to see and hear about what folks have gone on to do.
  • Do you offer parity pricing for members outside of the UK/EU/USA?
